SS24: Diving into the details

Our SS24 collection is all about reflections. In our previous journal post, we covered how we developed the range from initial concept to finished collection, but beyond the wider creative vision are the finer details that make an Untouched World piece unmistakably ours. We carefully consider fibre and finish, and how these reflect our values; they must be easy on the planet and blend form with function.

Here are just a few of the standout details from our SS24 collection.

Cotton Paper

Our Nina Top, Youko Crop Pant and Gia Skirt are all available in an innovative cotton paper blend. Crafted from 85% cotton and 15% paper, this beautiful fabric is produced in Japan by a textile mill we chose for its incredibly high standards. It is a member of Textile Exchange, an industry group committed to climate action and improving the environmental impact of textiles, and a Bluesign partner, meaning it adheres to strict criteria relating to factors including chemical consumption and worker safety.

This pioneering cotton paper blend delivers a textured, lightly structured fabric that’s airy yet holds its shape beautifully. For SS24, it is available in Mineral - a soft, light grey tone, and because it’s 100% natural, it will gently return to the earth at the end of its life.

Reflection Print

From knit textures to soft pastel tones, many elements of SS24 are inspired by our reflective concept, however our key campaign print is undoubtedly the culmination of the theme. It brings together all the main colours of the collection, from inky blues to pastel pinks, and is inspired by gazing upon the water and seeing all the colours of summer reflected back at you. Printed on stunning silky TENCEL™ fabric, the Minti Top, Gia Skirt, and Umi Dress all feature the design.

Cotton Grosgrain Stripe

We’ve added another deadstock fabric to our lineup for SS24. 100% natural with a subtle vertical stripe to echo the delicate reflective textures on our moodboards, the cotton grosgrain is the perfect choice for our Archie Shirt; lightweight, natural and earth-toned. By using deadstock fabrics – which are leftover and would otherwise be discarded - we can help keep materials in use and out of landfill.

Ripple Textures in Mohair Silk and Baby Suri Alpaca Silk

Our Amira Sweater is the embodiment of the understated way in which we’ve interpreted reflections alongside the signature print. Available in two different blends; ultra soft Mohair Silk (which is 60% RMS certified mohair and 40% silk), and Baby Suri Alpaca Silk (70% RAS certified Baby Suri Alpaca and 30% Silk). The textural diamond knit is designed as a nod to the organic yet geometric patterns that dance on the surface of the water under the sunlight. In delicate shades of rose cloud and snow, this piece makes a quiet statement.

Organic Cotton Jersey Knit

The Australian organic cotton used for a selection of our tees and more relaxed styles for SS24, such as the Organic Cotton Slouchy Pant, the Myron Tee and the Ren Long Sleeve Crew, is testament to the ability to create high quality garments with minimal impact. Australian Certified Organic and OEKO TEX Standard 100 certified, the fabric is produced in a world-leading facility that reuses up to 85% of its water thanks to an on-site water treatment plant. And not only does it tread lightly on the environment, it's light to the touch, breathable and comfortable too.

Micro Modal

Micro modal is known for being incredibly soft yet durable and resistant to shrinkage. For SS24 we have a selection of relaxed tailored separates which are elevated but easy to care for, made from a blend of micro modal, cotton and linen. We have sourced the fabric from a certified mill which is dedicated to using natural fibres, and each of the fibres in the mix comes complete with credentials: the modal is sourced from Lenzing, a leader in responsible fibre production, the certified cotton fibre is grown in Australia and the US, and the linen is grown under the European Flax Standard. This easy to wear, easy on the planet fabric is used in a range of styles including the Alvis Jacket, the Nixie Pant, the Tamsin Short, and the Irving Overshirt.
